Happy Birthday Mom

Here are pictures of a card I made my mom for her birthday.  I used paper from the DCWV Luxury Stack, stamps, and black cardstock.  I made the card, gift card holder, and envelope.

Cards to Share

Hi! I haven't updated my site in a couple of weeks but I haven't forgotten about it either.  :-) I have some Halloween cards to share that I made.  I have to admit that I am not much of nor have I ever been a card maker but I am finding that I do enjoy this craft.

Of course I get inspiration from all over the place.  Think I saw a similar card to this in a magazine.  I didn't use any cricut carts for this one. Just some stickers I found at M's for .99 cents and a "halloween" stamp that I found at Tuesday Morning for 2.99 for a whole set of about 20 Halloween foam stamps.  The bats on the inside also came from that stamp set.

For this card, I used orange chalk on bright yellow paper to make the front of the card not so bright.  I just rubbed it all over the card.  I used a paper pieced haunted house that I found on the scrapbooksetc.com website.  I also used the black letter cricut cart for the "happy halloween" and I drew the spider myself.  Lol too lazy to look for one.

I think this is one of my favorites. It was so simple to make.

Ok, THIS one is my favorite.  I took some time cutting all the paper but the end result was totally worth it.  The "boo" is a stamp.  I see many blogs acknowledge where the paper came from but honestly I don't remember.  I'll try to keep better track of things like that.  I believe I saw a similar card of this in a magazine also.

SistasScrapToo Challenge 2

Here is the other card I made for the SistasScrapToo September Challenge.  This one has a Halloween theme because Halloween is coming up and I wanted to try making cards to send to my nieces and nephews.  This was the perfect challenge to get me going.  I'm not a card maker but am on my way to becoming one. Hopefully  :-)

The scalloped circle on the cover, the "Just Riding By" strip, and the "Happy Halloween" all turned out a little on the pinkish red side.  They are all actually the same orange as the ribbon but on the scanner came out that color.  I am proud of this card.  I used a tiny square of velcro to close it up.  Thoughts?

SistasScrapToo Challenge 1

Here is a flip card that I made for the Sistasscraptoo September Challenge. It's not complete as I have to find a way to make it close. I have an idea though. Will post a follow-up pic once it's truly complete. Thoughts?

First Card Ever

Here is a picture of the first card I ever made. It was pretty simple but I can see that I have a lot to learn and a long way to go before I get as good as I want to be. I might have to go take some classes. :-)

I made this for a friend who is a Corrections Officer and just got a promotion. She really liked it. I could have added some detail to the face and maybe cut the card down a bit but for the most part it's pretty ok if I may say so myself.  I used the cricut machine and the edpd and georges carts to make this.  I got the ribbon from the dollar bin at M's.

New to Blogging

Hello All!

I am new to this whole blogging thing.  I've seen plenty of them and have decided to give it a try.  This blog will more than likely focus on my quest to be a good or half-ass decent scrapbooker.  I am just starting to really get into scrapbooking and learning to make cards.  I will be sharing my experiences here and my completed and maybe not-so compete projects.  I am LEARNING.  If you have any feedback, please feel free to share.  Come back often as this blog will be updated often (Right now I can only promise weekly updates)  I will update more as I can or as I have something to share. Thanks for visiting. Come back soon.
